「リトル・チャロ」から英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

Charo and Tonko bring Rigel to the hospital where Yoko is.
Yoko still hasn’t woken up.
チャロとトンコは ヨーコのいる病院へ リゲルを連れて来ました
ヨーコは まだ目覚めていません
That is her room. Now, wake her up.
あそこがヨーコの病室よ さあ 催眠術を解いて
Yoko will remember you. I know she will.
ヨーコは必ず リゲルのことを 覚えているから

Rigel. Believe.
リゲル… 信じて
All right.
分かった
Rigel begins to howl.
リゲルは 遠吠えを響かせます
Aroooooo.
Ah.
Yoko? Yoko. You're awake.
ヨーコ？ ヨーコ！ 目が覚めたのね！
Tomoko. What happened? Where am I?
トモコ… どうしたの？ ここは 一体…？
The hospital. You’ve been sleeping for more than a day.
I thought you might never wake up.
病院よ ずっと眠っていたのよ
もう目を覚まさないかと思ったわ

Just then, a police officer rushes into the room.
そのとき 警官が 飛び込んできました
Rigel. There you are. What are you doing here?
リゲル！ やっと見つけたぞ！ こんな所で 何してるんだ！

すみません こいつは 私の警察犬なんです

リゲル ほら行くぞ

何だ…？ 一体どうしたんだ？

Charo, Tonko, settle down.
チャロ トンコ やめなさい！
Hold on. That dog... that’s my dog.
待ってください！ その子は 私が飼っていた犬です

ゲン おいで

Oh Gen. I missed you so much.
やっぱり… あなただったのね
ゲン 会いたかったわ

ごめんね ゲン すぐに気が付かなくて

After seeing Rigel and Yoko together,
Charo remembers his own owner.

Yoko is out of the hospital and back filming.
They are trying a scene with a flower, an aster, once again.
ヨーコが退院して セントラルパークで撮影再開
今日は 久しぶりに アスターの花を使っての撮影です
Arf, arf. A butterfly.
ちょうちょだ！
Cut.
カットー！
Charo. You can't move. You have to stand still.
チャロ！ 動いちゃダメ じっとしてなきゃダメでしょ
Arf?

In this scene, you are waiting for Yoko.
You stay here, day after day, waiting for her. Got it?
何度言ったら分かるの？ これは チャロが ヨーコを待つシーンなのよ
来る日も来る日も じっとこの場所で待ち続けるの 分かった？

ヨーコを信じて待つの 最後に分かれた この場所でね

トモコ 気合い入ってるな

Tomoko’s mother runs a group home for kids in Los Angeles.
She is making this movie for them.
トモコのお母さんが運営するロサンゼルスのグループホームで―
子どもたちに見せる映画よ
Like Charo, they are waiting, too.
And they need to have faith.
チャロのように 家族と会える日を待ってるの
だから 信じる気持ちが大切なのよ
Okay, Charo. Let's do it again.

Charo is just like Hachiko.
チャロは まるで忠犬ハチ公だな

何？ ハチ公って？ またシェークスピア？
No. There’s a story in Japan.
It's about a dog who waited for years
for his owner to come back.
いや 日本で語り継がれている話だ
飼い主の帰りを 何年も待ち続ける犬の話だよ
Hachiko is famous in Japan.
There is even a statue of him.
ハチ公は 日本では有名な犬で
今では銅像まで建てられている
If Charo stands there long enouch,
he’ll be a statue.
チャロも このままじっとしていたら そのうち銅像が建つかもね！
Cut. Tonko, would you be quiet?
カット！ トンコ 静かにしなさい！
Making a movie looks hard.
映画の撮影ってのは大変だな
The aster.
It symbolizes faith, a believing heart.
That night, Tomoko is having dinner
with her friend, Carl.
その夜 トモコは 友達のカールと食事をしています
Tell me more about Hachiko.
そのハチ公って どんな犬なんだい？
He used to go to the station every day to meet his owner.
But one day, his owner got I'll and died while he was out.
ハチ公は 大好きな飼い主を 毎日駅まで迎えにいっていたの
でもある日 飼い主が出先で倒れて 死んでしまった
Hachiko didn’t know that, of course.
He kept waiting for his owner, believing he would come back.
そのことを知らないハチ公は―
飼い主がいつか帰ってくると信じて 待ち続けるのよ
So that’s where you got the idea for your movie.
その話をヒントにして 物語を作ったってわけか
Yep. When I was a child, my mother used to tell me
this story every night before bed.
And her mother used to tell it to her.
ええ 子どものころ ママら毎晩のように 聞かせてもらったお話なの
ママは おばあちゃんから 教えてもらったそうよ

その後 ハチ公が どうなっちゃうか知ってる？

Yoko gets her memory back.

I want to show this movie to the kids
in the group home my mother runs.
I want those children to believe.
この映画は ママの運営している グループホームの
子供たちに見せたいの
その子たちには 信じる気持ちを持ってもらいたい
So I changed the story a little.
It's my present to those kids.
だから ハチ公の物語をアレンジして
プレゼントにって考えたの

And now you will tell it to the kids through your movie.

チャロ 頑張って待ち続けるんだぞ
He doesn’t just keep waiting, actually.
待ち続けるだけじゃないわよ

He goes out to look for Yoko.
He asks animals around the city.
チャロは ヨーコを捜しに行くの
町中の動物に尋ねてまわるのよ

ほんと？
Charo, you are going to have so much fun.
チャロ これから楽しくなるわよ！
It seems Charo’s story is about to get to a new chapter.
