あらすじ：これまでのリトル・チャロ
船なら日本に帰れる！
チャロは仲間に見守られ、ハドソン河の船に飛び乗りました。

So now, Charo is on board a boat
full of Japanese decorations.
チャロは 日本風に飾り付けられた船に乗り込みました
It is Charo's very first boat ride,
so everything is new to him.
船は初めてのチャロ 何もかもが新鮮です
わぁ…すごいや
He peeks around but is very careful not to be noticed.
あちこちのぞきながらも 見つからないよう注意していました
Suddenly, he thinks he hears some Japanese.
ふと 日本語が聞こえたような気がしました

A Japanese cook is explaining somethig to another cook.
日本人のコックが 別のコックに 何か説明しています
Okay, this is daikon. Japanese radish.
いいか これは「ダイコン」 つまり 日本のラディッシュだ
This one is shoga.
It's pickled ginger. Some people call it gari.
これは「ショーガ」
ジンジャーの漬物だ 「ガリ」とも言う
Oh, okay, chief.
This is daikon, and this is shoga or gari, right?
はいチーフ
これは「ダイコン」で こっちが「ショーガ」 または 「ガリ」
やっぱり日本の船だったんだ すごいや
Charo continues to explore and
wanders into another section of the boat.
さらに探検を続けるチャロ 別の所に入り込みました
Wow! I've never eaten so much sushi in all my life!
わぁ 今までこんなにたくさんのお寿司 食べたことないわ！
Me, neither! With the beautiful New York view
and all this sushi, this is just awesome!

Here, Charo peeps out a little too much.
One of them notices him.
すこしだけ身を乗り出しすぎたチャロ
ひとりが気づきます
Look! What a cute dog!
見て！ なんてキュートな犬！
The young woman comes over to Charo
and picks him up.
近づいてきて チャロを抱き上げました
He's still a puppy!
まだ子犬だわ！
Maybe he belongs to one of the crew members.
乗務員の犬かしら？
Hey, little puppy, do you want to
go out to the deck with us?
ワンちゃん いっしょにデッキに行かない？
I think we are just about to
pass by the Statue of Liverty.
そろそろ 自由の女神のそばを通るころよ
The boat seems to have already traveled far.
At least, that's what Charo thought.
船は もうずいぶん進んでいました
少なくとも チャロはそう思えました
That's it! That's the Statue of Liberty!
ほら！ あれが自由の女神よ！
I'll take a picture of you and this puppy
with the statue in the back.
自由の女神をバックに 一緒に写真を撮ってあげるわ

なんて愛らしいの！
The boat is getting closer and closer
to the famous Statue of Liberty.
船は有名な自由の女神にどんどん近づいていきます
But just then, Charo has a strange feeling.
でもその時 チャロは あれっと思いました
The boat isn't going out to the ocean at all.
船は 少しも外洋に向かっていないのです
あれ…？ 変だな…なんか戻っていく

チビちゃん もう行っていいわよ

そしてその瞬間 チャロのまわりが
ぐるぐると回りだしました
なんか、気持ち悪い…

船に酔ってしまったのです それもひどい船酔いです

Meanwhile, Dread and Margherita
are still at the pier.
They are too empty-hearted to leave the place.
ドレッドとマルゲリータは桟橋で
魂がぬけたように立っていました

The boat. It's coming back.
船よ 戻ってくるわ

a crewman dumps Charo onto the pier.

Dread and Margherita dash towards Charo.
チャロに駆け寄るドレッドとマルゲリータ
Charo, Charo! What happened to you?
チャロ、チャロ！何があったの？
Open your eyes! Wake up!
目を開けて！ 起きて！
うーん…
Are you all right? Are you hurt?
大丈夫か？ けがはないか？
Charo is completely done in.
チャロは ぐったりのびていました
It seems that Dread and Margherita
will have to take care of Charo...
for just a little bit longer.
2匹は また チャロの世話をすることになりそうです

Charo is still down in Dread's nest
after being terribly seasick.
チャロは 船酔いから立ち直れず
まだドレッドのねぐらで のびていました
Shota appears in his dream.
すると 夢の中に翔太が現れました
Shota was crying sometimes. He was lonely.
His mother died last year.
翔太は時々泣いていた 寂しかったんだ
お母さんが去年死んじゃったから
ごめんね チャロ これは2人の秘密だよ
お父さんには内緒なんだ
He was sad, but he was hiding it.
He tried to seem okay.
翔太は 悲しい気持ちを隠していたんだ

One day, Shota said that we were going
on a trip to America with his father.

Charo is mumbling in his sleep,
with tears in his eyes.
チャロは うわごとを言ったり 涙を浮かべたりしていました
Hey, you need some rest, too, Dread.
It's my turn to stay awake.
ドレッド あなたも少しは休まないと。
今度は私が起きてるから
Nah, I'm not sleepy.
いや 眠くないのさ
You know, Dread... You're really sweet.

そばにマルゲリータがいます。

チャロ！ 目が覚めたのね！ よかった！
ドレッド！ チャロが起きたわよ！
Oh...Good.
そうか よかった
Checking on the pup, Dread is relieved,
and closes his eyes.

the whole time you were asleep.

Charo looks up at the night sky
with a puzzled look on his face.
