リトル・チャロ (14) Sharing ゆずりあい、SAKURA サクラの国の春 英語／日本語訳

今回は7月2日 PM1:35～1:45と、7月3日AM6:35～6:45放送の
「リトル・チャロ」から英語を学んでいきたいと思います。
宜しくお願いします。

あらすじ：これまでのリトル・チャロ
ニューヨークを離れるローザとマルゲリータ。
チャロはお別れのプレゼントに、
美味しそうなソーセージを受け取るのでした。

Charo drags the sausages back to their nest.
チャロはソーセージを ねぐらまでひきずっていきました
Dread, I'm back! Look. All these sausages.
I got them from Rosa.
ただいま！ 見て！ ローザがこんなにくれたんだよ
She gave all this to you?
これ全部をおまえにか？
Yes! So Dread, let's eat!
うん！いっしょに食べようよ！
Dread remains silent.
Then, with a frown...
ドレツドはしばらく無言 それから顔をしかめて―
Charo...don't you remember?
I told you. Eat whenever you can, whatever you can.
チャロ忘れたのか？
言っただろ 食えるときには いつでも なんでも食えと
Yes, but...
うん でも…
You're hungry, right?
腹がへってるんだろ？
I'm hungry, but...

Then, eat. These are yours.
Don't even think of sharing them with others.
なら食え これはおまえのだ 分けあおうなんて考えるんじゃない

だって…いやだ

なんだと？
I want to eat with you.
If you're not eating, I'm not eating.
いっしょに食べたいんだ ドレッドが食べないなら ぼくも食べない
Being stubborn won't get you anywhere.
意地を張ってもどうにもならんぞ
Let's split half and half. That's the only way.
半分ずつにしよう そうじゃなきゃやだ
Dread is moved by
how much the pup thinks of him.
ドレツドはチャロの気持ちに 胸を打たれますが―
Listen, Charo.
If you get hold of food, keep it to yourself.
いいか食い物を手に入れたら 誰にも渡すな
Otherwise, you'll be a dead dog,
long before you get to Japan. Now eat.
でないと死んでしまうぞ
日本に行きつかんうちにな さあ 食え
Then...I'm not eating anything.
それなら ぼく何も食べない
Humph! Stubborn kid...
強情なガキだ
For the rest of the day, neither of the
two dogs dare to even go close to the sausages.
その日 ２匹はソーセージに 近づこうともしませんでした
Night comes with their stomachs growling.
夜になり おなかがダーグー
Morning arrives with their stomachs
still growling.
朝がきてもまだダーグー
But then...
ところが―
Mamma mia! Delicious!
すっごい ごちそうだ！
Oh, no! Sally again!
His friends are there, too.
なんてことでしょう！ サリーです！ 仲間もいます
No! What are you doing?
Those sausages are ours!
だめ！ 何してるんだよ？ ぼくらのだよ！
Charo dashes into the birds.
They all fly away, except Sally.
チャロが突進すると
鳥たちは飛び去りました 一羽のぞいて
Sally...what have you done?
なんてことを…
Well, they were starting to go bad.
I saved them from being wasted.
あの 腐りかけていたから
ムダになるところを救ってあげたのね
These were for Dread...and me…
to eat later...together.
ドレッドとぼくが あとでいっしよに食べようって…
Charo looks around and is shocked.
The sausages...all gone!?
チャロはあたりを見回してショック！
ソーセージが１本も残っていない!?

And, uh...sorry about this whole thing.
捜してるのはこれ？ こんなことになって悪かったね
Now you understand, don't you?
そらみたことか
Charo picks up the sausage
and brings it to Dread.
チャロはソーセージをくわえて
ドレッドのところへ持っていきます
What are you...?
なんだ？
Let's each eat half.
半分ずつ食べよう
Charo...
チャロ
I want you to eat with me.
I want you to stay strong.
いつしよに食べてよ
ドレッドに元気でいてほしいんだよ
Please eat with me.
お願い ぼくとにいっしょ食べて。
Dread can't stand to
let down this little puppy any more.
ドレツドはこれ以上 チャロが悲しむのを 見ていられませんでした
Okay, Charo. You win.
You eat first, I'll eat the rest.
わかったチャロ おまえには負けたよ
先に食べろ おれは残りを食う
Really?
ほんと？
Now stop crying and eat.
ほれ 泣いてないで食え
Yes!
うん！
Charo bites into his share of sausage.
It tastes so good.

One night in their nest,
Charo wakes up and finds Dread moaning.
ある夜 チャロはドレッドが うめいているのに気づきました
Dread...?
ドレッド？
Dread's nose is dry and his body is hot.
ドレッドの鼻は乾き 体はほてっています
Dread, you're hot!
You have a fever.
ドレッド 熱いよ 熱が出てるよ
No...It's nothing.
いや なんでもない
Not knowing what to do,
Charo starts to lick him.
どうしていいか分からないまま
チャロはドレッドをなめ始めました
Gradually, Dread seems to be feeling better.
しだいにドレッドも楽になってきたようです
So Charo...tell me about Chicago.
なあチャロ シカゴのことを話してくれるか
We never had the chance to really talk
since you came back.
帰って来てから ろくに話すヒマもなかったな
Well...I met Margherita's friend Louisa
who lives there.
えっと マルゲリータの友だちのルイーザに会ったよ
She is able to see the future.
She said I had a better chance here
in New York than in Chicago,
if I wanted to go back to Japan.
彼女は未来を占って 教えてくれたの

ニューヨークにいたほうがいいって
Humph...Japan, huh?
I wouldn't even have thought about it,

I wonder...what it's like.
日本か おまえがいなけりゃ 考えることもなかったろうな

There are many buildings...and houses.
It's crowded...just like New York.
ビルがいっぱいあって お家もいっぱいで
人もごちゃごちゃしてて…ニューヨークと同じくらい
And...hmm…yes!
In spring, it becomes pink.
それで…そうだ！ 春になると ピンクになるの

ピンク？
Yes, flowers! Pink flowers on trees.
They bloom everywhere….
The whole town becomes pink!
そう 花だよ ピンクの花が木に咲くの
そこらじゅうに咲いて 街がぜーんぶピンクに染まるんだ
The whole town? That can't be.
街じゅう全部だと？ まさか
Really! I was born in winter and never knew
that the world could be so beautiful.
ほんとうだよ！ ぼくは冬に生まれたから 世界があんなに
きれいになるって知らなかったんだ
When Shota first showed me the pink flowers,
I was so surprised. It was...almost like a dream!
翔太がはじめてピンクの花を 見せてくれたとき すごく驚いた
夢みたいだった
If that's true, it must be worth a look.
もしほんとうなら 見てみたいな
It is true! The flower's name is sakura.
Shota's mother loved them.
I wish...I could show them to you.
ほんとうだって！ その花はサクラっていうんだ
翔太のママが大好きだったんだよ ドレッドにも見せてあげたいな

I feIt the warm hazy sun
ぼくがはじめて迎える春 暖かな淡い陽ざしに
Out we ran, hand in hand
Along the riverbank
走りだしたよ 手を繋いで 川岸を
And we felt the soft scented breeze
I wondered what it was
I looked above and saw the trees
ほのかな香りのそよ風を感じた
なんだろうって ふと見上げたら木の枝に
There were pale pinkish blossoms
My first-time-to-see blossoms
Against the blue, bright blue sky
薄いピンクの花がついていた はじめて会う花
光こぼれる青空を背に
And the wind was blowing gently
My first-time-to-see blossoms
The flowers are called sakura
風がやさしく吹いていた はじめて会う花
その名はサクラ
I want to see the cherry blossoms with you, Dread.
ドレッドといっしょに サクラを見られたらなあ
Humph.
Dread closes his eyes again and gives out a moan.
ドレッドはまた目を閉じて うめき声をあげました
Dread? Are you all right?
ドレッド だいじょうぶ？
Charo...when you get back to Japan, will you...
チャロ おまえがいつか日本に帰ったら…
Yes...what?
えっ なに？
Nothing. Forget it.
なんでもない いいんだ
With that, Dread falls asleep and so does Charo.
The two don't look alike at all,
but they really seem close,
almost like father and son.
そう言ってドレッドは眠りに落ち チャロも寝つきます
似ても似つかぬ２匹ですが その様子はまるで父と子のようでした
