「リトル・チャロ」から英語を学んでいきたいと思います。

あらすじ：これまでのリトル・チャロ
映画に必要なライオンが なかなか見つからない
しかしチャロは サーカス団がライオンを連れてやって来ることを
つきとめました

The four friends go backstage to meet the animals.
First, they see a poodle.
トモコたちは 動物に会いに バックステージへ
まずはプードルです
Hi, I’m Charo.
こんにちは 僕はチャロ
Bonjour. Hello. I am Sophie.
ボンジュール こんにちは 私はソフィーよ
You must be cold.
寒そうだね
Well, just look at my haircut.
I am cold. But I am beautiful.
I am sure your piggy friends must be very warm.
毛をカットしてもらったからよ 寒いけど… でも きれいでしょ？
そこのブタちゃんは 暖かそうでいいわね
I’m not a pig. I’m a rabbit.
ブタじゃないわ！ ウサギよ！
Ah, pardon me.

Come on, Charo. Let's go.
チャロ 行くわよ
Next they come to the chameleon.
次はカメレオンです
Chameleon? Where? I don’t see anybody.
カメレオン？ どこ？ なんにも見えないけど
Heeyaa
Wow. That rock is floating in the air.
わっ！ 石が宙に浮いてる！
Look closer, Charo. The chameleon is holding it up.
よくご覧なさい チャロ カメレオンが持ち上げてるのよ

Yeah, strong. That’s easy to see.
But you are hard to see.
力持ちなのは分かるけど 見えないんじゃ意味ないわ
I know. My skin blends in with the things around me,
so nobody notices.
そうなんだ 肌の色が周りに溶け込んでしまうのさ
だから気付いてもらえない

Now I’m really scared of round things.

以来 ウチもすっかり 人気がなくなってしまいました

They have found a lion,
but their problems are not yet solved.

At the circus, Charo and his friends
have found a lion for their movie.
But Regulus the lion doesn’t move at all.
チャロたちは サーカスで ライオンを見つけました
でも そのライオンのレグルスは 少しも動きません
My name is Charo. Regulus? Wake up.
We're shooting a movie. And we need your help.
僕はチャロ レグルス 起きて！
僕たち 映画を撮ってるんだ 君の助けが必要なんだ
Oh, it's no use. He won't even move.
このライオンはダメね ちっとも動かないわ
We can't shoot with a lion like this.
このライオン 撮影には使えないな
Tomoko, what are we going to do?
トモコ どうする？

The other would do a backflip on a tightrope.
That was his rival.
もう１人は 綱の上で宙返りしてみせたわ それが彼のライバル

そうなの？ それは誰？
Regulus’s rival was called Sarah, the legendary rabbit.
彼女はこう呼ばれたわ 伝説のウサギ セイラ

She and Regulus were best friends.
２人は そりゃ仲がよかったわ

With that, Sarah walked to the middle
of the highest rope in the tent and did a triple backflip.
そう言うと セイラは テントのいちばん高いロープの上で―
後方３回宙返りを決めたのよ

Regulus and Sarah were always competing
and always improving. That made them better.
But then Sarah was headhunted by another circus.

Yes. By a famous circus called the impulse.

And then Sarah left the circus.
そして セイラは去っていったの
But Regulus made a promise.
He was going to keep practicing.
でも セイラと約束したなら レグルスは がんばらないと…
Yes, but.. Sarah died.
そうだけど… セイラは死んじゃったんだ

え？
It was a year ago. Word came that Sarah had died.
Regulus has been like this since that day.
１年前だよ セイラが死んだという知らせが届いたのは

Lions live for the hunt.
They love the thrill of the chase.
ライオンは 何かを追いかけることで

思い詰めた顔で トンコは走り去りました
